i didn't have any roughs to choose from, that i actually liked. its still a mess, needs to be cleaned up a lot more back to the drawing board.

new bad add

This is a bad ad because there is too much text fighting with each other. Half the ad is super-sized big font, and I don't know what to read first. The image to the left is a side thought after trying to read all the text, and the logo is almost lost in the sea of  very huge fonts and bold colors.The theme seems to be demi  sale, but then there's an advertisement of sunglasses. The ad never says what brand of jeans are on sale, but it has a list of sun glass designers.

There is so much for me to learn about text, pitching ideas, concept, i could go on and on. I want to be in this class because I need to learn these things. I also want to be able to view design from the technical aspect of. I also want to further my knowledge on everything ad design is will. Graphic design didn't always peak my interest, until i started working on school projects and having so much fun with some of them.

I cant really say if i have a trained enough eye to spot a bad ad. To me, if it was good enough to be printed and paid for, it couldn't have been that bad. I did however find  an ad in the same magazine that i did not like. I don't like this ad because to me, its hard to read black text over a dark image. I have to stain my eyes to try to read everything. I didn't get pass 3 words before i gave up on trying to do so.

I chose the diesel ad because it immediately caught my attention. I think is was because there aren't any faces to be seen. The photography and text work well together, and the green pops out to get the readers eye. Another reason I chose this ad because it was different from most of the other ads in the magazine.Most images didn't have any text, just clothes, and other had a two page spread as well as. I handed the magazine to my roommate, and she had stopped on the same image, its likable.
